Eye Color Stereotypes

Have you ever seen one of those posts on Facebook or Tumblr where it says something like, "brown eyed people are the caring down to earth people blabity blahbity blah?" Maybe you've seen a t-shirt that says, "There's nothing like a blue eyed girl." Here's the thing, the merch is cute, dont get me wrong, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't swell with pride if one of those posts relate to my eye color, but lets be totally honest with ourselves here. None of that fluff is actually true.

If you've ever heard the saying, "Eyes are the windows to the soul," or believe it, then you'll get where I'm coming from. The thing is, no eye color can determine what kind of person you are. I don't care if you have the purest most beautiful crystal eyes. That doesn't make you a sweet little daffodil. For all we know you're probably a mass murderer. *Cough cough* Blue Eyed Butcher.(although I really did love that movie! Especially the ending! That chick was a boss!) And just because you have soft brown eyes, that doesn't mean you are totally caring and kind and down to earth, (Hitler anyone?) On the other hand...maybe you are all of these things. In the end, it has absolutely nothing to do with your eye color.

I personally think the only way I could ever decide what kind of person someone was before getting to know them and rather judging by their eyes is if they had like...no white in their eyes. I mean, I'm sorry but gee whiz I've seen enough Supernatural and Charmed episodes to know that that is NOT cool.

Anyways, It's an intriguing thing to wonder about. On one hand, these stereotypes could be very true. I mean, that's how stereotypes are born right? If enough people display these traits then someone will get the wise idea to jump to this conclusion. Depending on who you are, it may apply to you, or maybe not at all. Still, on the other hand, they are quite fun to read. So read over these and tell me below which one you are and whether or not this applies to you. Maybe I'm wrong, how about we all see together if these are true or not.

Common eye color stereotypes..

Black Eyes

"Black.  Black is a mysterious color associated with night, secrecy, mysticism, intuition, and magic!  Black eyes may indicate a deeply intuitive, sensual, and secretive person who may have psychic tendencies."

-My baby brother has black eyes. Although he's not very secretive. He's quite loud and hyper. Ermagherd! he might have psychic abilities!!!! or not? -.-
Lol actually its odd because the tops of he and my other brothers eyes are actually blue. Just a random note lol

Green Eyes

"Green is a vibrant and fresh color associated with life-force, vegetation, rejuvenation, youthfulness, and health.  Green eyes can indicates a youthful, compassionate soul who has immense creativity."

Blue Eyes
"Blue.  Blue is an intense and energetic color associated with the sky, electricity, and rational thought.  Blue eyes may indicate a forceful, direct person who has an immense vitality and a gift for insight and observation."

Brown Eyes
"Brown is a strong and rich color associated with earth-energy, creativity, simplicity, strength, endurance, and fertility.  Brown eyes may indicate a strong and independent person who feels a deep connection to nature and the earth."

Gray Eyes

Gray.  Gray is a fluid and subtle color associated with water, weather, changeability, mysticism, and wisdom.  Gray eyes may indicate a subtle and sensitive person who is attuned to the unseen and whose keen insight puts them several steps ahead of the crowd.

Hazel Eyes
Hazel.  Hazel is an exciting combination of the inner strength and independence from brown, the compassion and healing qualities from green, the fluidity and sensitivity from gray, and the intense vitality from blue.  A hazel eyed person possesses all of these qualities

So what do you think? Do you agree with these? Do they fit you, or do you know soemone who doesn't match these at all?

What's in My Bag? Writers Edition(Leah's Post)

So I was scrolling through youtube one time or another, and I noticed flashy titles advertising, "What's in my bag!" Now, I'll admit, I never once opened even a single one of those videos but it gave me an idea. How about do one to show all of you guys? So without further or due, here is a glimpse into the bag of a writer, please keep in mind that I carry a bag the size of an eighteen wheeler. Also, some componenets are interchangeable so yeah.

Black Sharpie: If it isn't obvious by the faded writing, I use this thing a LOT. I can't live without it, I can't go without it, and I never ever trust people who ask to borrow it. (Let that be a life lesson, no one should ever ask to borrow your black sharpie without supervision)

Tinted Lip Balm: If you notice, this lip balm is actually the Christmas themed one. It was sent to me in a care package by my aunt last December and I still have it. Yay me! (I can't even keep a fish for 3 hours either it disappears in the toilet or in my stomach) This is a lifesaver. Not only is it a SPF and wonderful moisturizer, but it goes on a nice tinted raspberry color. I am not the type of girl to layer on the makeup. That's why I like this, I can apply it anywhere, anytime without a mirror and I know it will keep my lips purty.

Wet n' Wild Megalength Mascara: Like I said, I refuse to spend time applying a face full of makeup but even being my nerdy self, I do like to maintain that innocent librarian type look. I've tried many mascara's but this is by far my very favorite. The bristles are surprisingly tiny and when I first bought it, I was on the verge of marching back into the store to get my money back. However, when I applied it I realized that maybe these magical mascara fairies had a method to their madness! It's perfect and I suggest it to everyone. The bristles grab every single one of your lashes and make them look fluttery and sweet.

This eraser....I can't even.....I won't even...asfkjbs;gskhdfbfj LOVE: Seriously, my aunt gave me this today and I don't know where from but I will tell you, it was sent by the Gods. I don't care how heavy it is, I will forever carry it around to write any wrongs that could ever possibly mar my life. Just look at it! Ahhhhh perf. :)

Mini Perfume: I do not suggest buying perfume from those mini bottles that you can find at dollar stores. The one displayed here was personally given to me by someone I know who makes these but you can find them at beauty salons, salon stores, flea markets, places like that. They're incredibly cheap for such good quality scents and there's no way you will bump into anyone with the exact same one as you. I love to use this one as an emergency measure. It doesn't spray, it rubs on to your skin so it also gives you a very pretty but not oily glow so you end up looking like you've just walked out of a perfume magazine advertisement. I love reading magazines at the library and now I don't have to swipe the scented advertisements. xD I kid!

Ugh, these cursed things. Okay I give up, I really do need these glasses, I'm as blind as a bat if I have to read anything thats two feet away. On the brighter note, I like to put them on when I'm at fancy places, I get nods of approval and I can keep from looking like an idiot by tripping and falling over entrees and bus boys.

A good book: This is one of those interchangeable pieces since I'm always reading a new book. Depending on where I'm going, I may carry it in my hand with my purse strap hanging from my mouth. I kid again! No but really, my book ALWAYS comes first. (I'm not really into vampire books but I borrowed this from my cousin and so far, it's pretty good!)

Finally, My writing binder. Now this, I try to bring with me everywhere because I never know when inspiration will strike or when I remember something that I forgot while writing. It's actually really big so it's hard to find space for it, but I manage.

I hope you enjoyed this post and got a few ideas as to what you might want to put in you own purse if you carry one. Comment below and let me know :) (that rhymed.)

My Confidence Playlist

Let's face it, it doesn't matter how many times we hear it, see it, or our mom's repeatedly tell us we're beautiful. What is it about being a teenage girl that makes it so much harder to except the true fact that each and everyone of us is perfect? If you've tuned in this week, I'm sure you've seen plenty of posts from the J.O.A.L.L.A.P gals on this so I wont reiterate the things that you've been hearing this week, or maybe even all your life. Instead, I compiled a list of my favorite songs that always give me a confidence boost when i'm feeling my lowest. As the quote says, "Confidence is silent, Insecurities are loud." What if we just blast some music to block out all the insecurity for a sec? Yeah? I think it's a good idea too.

                                      My confidence Playlist

1. I Will Not Bow-Breaking Benjamin
If you ever feel like the world is against you. Dealing with bullies, or words someone has spoken to you just wont leave you alone, this song will remind you that you are strong and nothing can break you.

I will not bow
I will not break
I will shut the world away
I will not fall
I will not fade
I will take your breath away

2.Just The Way you are-Bruno Mars
Okay, quick confession, sometimes I pretend Bruno Mars is singing this song to me. Hashtag don't judge me

When I see your face (face face...)
There's not a thing that I would change
'Cause you're amazing (amazing)Just the way you are (are)

3.Circles-Christina Aguilera
Warning-song has been known to make the shyest girls feel extremely bad as*

Figure-eight on my middle, try to break me but you can just
Spin around in circles on my middle middle finger

4.Best of Me-Christina Aguilera
Can you tell I was completely obsessed with the Lotus album? (Ten points if you can guess what else it inspired. ^_^)

Heartbroken and beaten
Knocked down and mistreated
I will rise undefeated
I will not let you bring me down.

5.Crooked Smile-J.Cole
So this song was like a breath of fresh air. I listen to it whenever I feel like"Gosh I see so many pretty girls, I wish I had  worn makeup today." Or, "Maybe if I change this about myself, I'll be happier  or beautiful, or get more attention." Look, It doesn't freaking matter!
But it's clear that you can't face what's wrong; no need to fix
What God already put his paint brush on; your roommate yelling
"Why you gotta take so long?" What it's like to have a crooked smile

6.Who You Are-Jessie J
This is for whenever you feel like you should change for someone else, or if you have changed for someone else. Please remember that there is nothing wrong with who you are.

But tears don't mean you're losing, everybody's bruising,
There's nothing wrong with who you are

There are obviously so many incredible songs that you can listen to but please don't think that I'm saying a song is solely whats needed to make you feel better about yourself. Here's the truth that no one can take away, beauty doesn't mean being rail thin, or being attractive to a certain guy you like. Beauty isn't having gorgeous long blonde hair or bouncy dark curls. Despite what the media and everyone tries to make us believe, NONE of these things are the definition of beauty. Instead, these are the definitions

beau·ty

  [byoo-tee]  Show IPA
noun, plural beau·ties.
1.
the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind,whether arising from sensory manifestations (as shape, color, soundetc.), a meaningful design or pattern, or something else (as a personality in which high spiritual qualities are manifest).
2.
a beautiful person, especially a woman.
3.
a beautiful thing, as a work of art or a building.
4.
Often, beauties. something that is beautiful in nature or in some natural or artificial environment.
5.
an individually pleasing or beautiful quality; gracecharm: a vivid blue area that is the one real beauty ofthe painting.

If you've noticed, there is not one clear definition of beauty telling you what it is, or how to be beautiful. This is because there is no definition of beauty. Beauty is natural and I'm not saying natural as in no makeup, I mean that beautiful seed of radiance that every single human being has inside of them since the moment of your birth. If someone is shallow enough to see your outershell before they can see your natural beauty then obviously, their soul is even uglier than any words they can say to make you feel self conscious.

Be proud of who you are and regret nothing. And on those bad days, just play a little musical confidece to drown out the insecurities.

A reason to graduate high school and go to college(Leah)

Sigh, school...It's gives me a migraine. When I find out that we'd be writing about school this week I was literally on the verge of a week of wallowing in writers block and misery. Sometimes I truly hate school and for that I couldn't imagine one entertaining thing I could write about it without being labeled and evil bully for making fun of teachers. Hooooowever, then I was talking to my college aged sister and it hit me like a flying toilet! Sure, school sucks..but I personally can't wait to go to college, and for that, maybe I can suffer two more years.

Aside from the absolute freedom, independence, and Highschool Musical-like random dance numbers(they do that in college, right?)

There are special course that you can choose to take. So without fur, durr or dew, here are is a list of awesome college courses you can take and my opinions on them.

1)At The University of Michigan

World-Wide Witchcraft: Witch-Belief & Witch-Hunting in Global Perspective
"Why did so many cultures, across several centuries and continents, work so hard to identify and kill so-called witches? This 100-level history class and freshman seminar encourages students to ask that question. It also looks at cultures and incidents where the persecution and killing of suspected witches still happens today."

my thoughts: ummm....O.O

2)At Columbia college in Chicago

Zombies in Popular media

"The flesh-eating undead are also the focus of a new course at the University of Baltimore titledMedia Genres: Zombies. The class' syllabus features such titles as Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Patient Zero, and students will screen classic zombie horror films like George A. Romero's "Night of the Living Dead."

my thoughts: well..we're not really starting off very well here are we?

3)At the University of Maryland

The Science of Harry Potter

"In the Science of Harry Potter course, students analyze magic by applying concepts of physics, biology, chemistry and engineering, and they take a look at everything from the latest teleportation research ("apparating") to Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans and the science of taste. Physics professor George R. Plitnik says the class isn't all fun and games; however, he has been known to dress up as Hogwarts Headmaster Albus Dumbledore."
My thoughts: Okay..I know there are some Potterheads out there. For you

4)At The University of South carolina
Lady Gaga and the Sociology of Fame
"As he observed Lady Gaga's rise to fame(A professor who was obviously obsessed with her.), Deflem become intrigued by what makes a person famous and what it means to be famous in today's society, and that's exactly what the class delves into — from a sociological perspective, of course"
my thoughts: you know, thinking about it, these classes dont appeal to me at all. that's it, im dropping out

How to Become Youtube Famous from Leah's P.o.V

Youtube, the land of magic. Where you can stalk online strangers without being sent to jail. This magnificent place is every teenager of the 21st centuries safe haven, unless your parents block youtube, and in that case,
No! No! I'm just kidding, stay. In the case that you ever are allowed to witness this modern day magic, you might need this post.

There are so many youtubers who are just beyond perfect out there that when I sat and thought about it I couldn't choose a single one to post about. Instead, I thought back to the days where I myself used to want to create my own youtube channel and be stalked by dozen of adoring creepers online. Alas, it only lasted for about a week until I got a new puppy but incase any of you are thinking about becoming one of those youtube celebrities, here are some things you should and should not do.

You should...

*Be yourself at all times*

Change over time is inevitable and it can also be a really good thing. We all change as we get older. Some of us start wearing makeup, some of us break into new hobbies. There's nothing wrong with changing your outlook as you grow up or broadening your horizons to where you aren't focused on one set group of people or one specific hobby.

That said, just because you feel like another popular youtuber has more likes because they swear all the time, or someone else is gets a lot of likes because of his/her vulgar jokes, doesn't mean you should do it.In order to not start a fan war I wont mention names but I've seen firsthand, a moderately cool youtuber go completely opposite ways and loose a lot of fans. If you're sweet and funny and you have "your thing" on youtube, then be that person. It's okay to experiment with new video formats or whatever, but don't become a completely different person. Your subscribers(even if there are only a few) subscribed to YOU for YOU. If they wanted to watch a video about someone else, they would have subscribed to them.

*Interact with your viewers*

Unfortunately, only a few youtubers do this. I mean, I understand, I do. With so many viewers its hard to please everyone. But as a devoted youtube watcher I will tell you, seeing that a youtuber has replied to a comment automatically makes them a billion times cooler. Even making an effort to reply to at least one comment per video shows that you appreciate your viewers. Not just that though. Here are some great examples of youtubers who put that little bit of extra effort in.

Ryan Higa- Dear Ryan.
He validates that even if he can't reply to all comments, he does read them. Viewers are allowed to ask "dear Ryan" questions and Ryan chooses a lucky one to create into a video.

Drew Verbs-Comments
I think Drew may be the only person on youtube who is semi-popular who replies to as many comments as possible and during the video even asks you your opinion like he really wants to know. As far as youtube Fame goes, he hasn't reached NigaHiga level, but if you watch his videos, instagram, twitter, or facebook you will see that his fans are devoted and absolutely love him.

Zoella-Giveaways!
Who doesn't love giveaways?

*Have a catch phrase!*

Eh hm..

Like MazziMaz-Peace, Love, Rubber Gloves
(asfgkhdfxkdulx <3)

Or Ryan Higa-Teehee!
(I'm sooo buying a teehee shirt)

Or evenMarcusButler- Hellooooooo
(okay, this one is sorta creepy lol)

*Update regularly*

If you don't update regularly then the fans that you do have will get sick of you and unsubscribe. Well...if they're ocd like me. I can't stand inactive accounts in my subscriptions! They waste so much space it drives me up the wall!

If you're going to make videos please have a set schedule. It can even be once a week, but people just want to know when they can expect their videos.I can understand it may be a little discouraging with only a few subscribers or vloggers block or whatever but don't give up! The time wasted not posting videos is time that you could have potentially had new viewers.

An exception to this rule is Charlieissocoollike, because his all of his videos are like, cool.

You shouldn't...

*Twerk...*

under any circumstances. If you do...

On a more serious note. I should rename that rule to You shouldn't make a donkey of yourself on video. It's pretty self explanatory.

*Create misleading titles to lure viewers*

I can't even articulate how much I hate this.I'm going to use a semi-specific example for this one. Once, I was on youtube and one of my viewing suggestions said something about interviewing jack from jacksgap. My memory is a little like that of an 80 year old woman but from what I think I remember, there was also the little video picture that showed Jack and a split screen and the interviewer kid.So, in my ignorance, I clicked it without looking at the author. To make a long story short the kid had created a video by taking clips from Jacks videos and mashed them with his own. I wish I could blame this kid's unfunny jokes and unbelievable interview for my nagging want to throw my lap-top out the window but I'm thinking that may just be a personal issue.

Second example. I was trying to watch the lyric videos for FIR's then new song and when the song came on...I don't even know what the heck it was. But it sure wasn't Ronny Radke. Not cool..not...cool.

*Rant...to much*

There's nothing wrong with blowing off some steam at your viewers when they've made hurtful comments or are just getting on your nerves. However, if every video you do is you dissing someone or talking about how much you hate everyone and everything, people will get sick of you. Also, you'll probably lure in a LOT of trolls. Anyone on the Internet knows DONT FEED THE TROLLS. By creating a video based on you raging out, not only are you feeding them, you are hanging a big sparkly arrow pointing  to your channel that flashes the words "ALL YOU CAN EAT."

Some really good examples of ranting the right way would definitely be Jenna Marbles. Jenna knows how to tell you everything she hates without offending anyone and she ends up making you laugh. She's skilled in the art of ranting creatively by turning the things that annoy her into funny videos instead of annoying cover-your-ears-and-slam-your-laptop-down videos.

So, these have been thoughts on how to become a famous youtuber. Of course I probably left some vital things out or maybe there could be some exceptions if done right. After all, I am not a youtuber. But after all, this is my humble opinion on the topic, what yours?
